Red River Breeze Brings Celtic Holiday Music to the Roxy |
The local acoustic band performs their tenth annual Christmas concert on December 13th |
There's something magical about hearing holiday carols with a Celtic twist, and Clarksville's own Red River Breeze has been doing exactly that for ten years now. The acoustic Celtic band is bringing their annual holiday concert back to the Roxy Regional Theatre on Saturday, December 13th at 7:00 PM, and if past years are any guide, tickets won't last long.
What to Expect at the Concert
Red River Breeze performs traditional holiday tunes and carols, but they add their own Celtic flair that makes everything sound fresh and unique. The concert is called "Sing We, Noel!" and features a talented lineup of local musicians playing instruments you don't hear every day.
Stephanie Taylor will play hammered dulcimer, concertina, and recorders. Melanie Beck is on fiddle. Michaela Allemand plays Irish flute and whistle. Kim Jorgenson handles Irish whistle, recorders, and vocals. Toby Draven performs on cello, vocals, and bowed psaltery. David Magers is on guitar and vocals. Nate Wojciechowski plays djembe and hammered dulcimer. Plus, the group will have special guests joining them for the evening.
The mix of instruments creates a sound that feels both ancient and timeless—perfect for the holidays. The concert will include old favorites along with new arrangements of ancient carols, so even if you've been to their concerts before, there will be something fresh to enjoy.
A Show That Sells Out Every Year
This has become an annual holiday tradition for many people in Clarksville, and the group's previous concerts at the Roxy have consistently sold out. Tickets are already going quickly for this year's show, so if you're interested, it's smart to grab them soon.
The concert runs about two hours with a brief intermission. During intermission and after the performance, you can purchase copies of Red River Breeze's recordings, including their recently released album "Generations." It's a nice way to take some of that Celtic holiday music home with you.
How to Get Tickets
Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for kids ages 12 and under. You can buy them online at www.roxyregionaltheatre.org, by phone at 931.645.7699, or in person at the Roxy Regional Theatre box office. The box office is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM, and also one hour before the performance.
The Roxy is located at 100 Franklin Street in historic downtown Clarksville, right at the corner of Franklin and First Street. It's a beautiful old theatre that's perfect for this kind of intimate concert.
Why This Concert Matters
Red River Breeze is a local band made up of Clarksville musicians who've been playing together for years. When you go to one of their concerts, you're not just hearing great music—you're supporting local artists and keeping live music alive in downtown Clarksville. The Roxy Regional Theatre is a nonprofit dedicated to producing professional live theatre and promoting the arts in Middle Tennessee, so your ticket also helps support that mission.
If you're looking for something special to do during the holidays in Clarksville, this concert is a wonderful way to get into the Christmas spirit. The music, the historic venue, and the talented musicians all come together to create an evening you'll remember.
