Hundreds of Bikers Ride Through Clarksville to Bring Holiday Joy

The 44th Annual Leslie W. Watson Memorial Toy Run collected toys for local families

Picture hundreds of motorcycles lined up, engines rumbling, riders bundled up against the cold, and every single one carrying toys for kids who need a little extra help this Christmas. That's what happened recently when Clarksville's own Bikers Who Care held their 44th Annual Leslie W. Watson Memorial Toy Run. It's a tradition that's been bringing the community together for more than four decades, and this year was no different.

A New Starting Point

In past years, the toy run started at Governor's Square Mall. This year, things looked a little different. Hundreds of motorcycles gathered at Budweiser of Clarksville, where riders could grab food from trucks, listen to music from a DJ, and catch up with fellow bikers before the ride began.

Riders started showing up before 11:00 AM, even though the official ride wasn't scheduled to kick off until 1:00 PM. That's how excited people were to be part of this event. The atmosphere was festive, with the sound of motorcycles mixing with holiday music and the smell of food in the air.

Santa Leads the Way

As tradition goes, Santa Claus rode the lead motorcycle. This year, he had a special guest riding with him—Mia Golden, the daughter of Montgomery County Mayor Wes Golden. Seeing Santa on a motorcycle is something you don't forget, and it set the tone for the whole ride.

Once everyone was lined up and ready to go, the procession rolled out through the streets of Clarksville. It's quite a sight to see hundreds of motorcycles traveling together, all on a mission to help local families have a better Christmas.

Where the Ride Went

The route took riders through town and ended at Appleton Harley Davidson, where the celebration continued. There was live music, more food trucks, and a chance for everyone to relax and enjoy the day. The whole event felt like a benefit party with a purpose—bringing people together while collecting toys for kids in need.

Bikers Who Care is a major supporter of children's charities in Clarksville, and the toy run is one of their biggest events of the year. For families who are struggling to make ends meet, these toys can make all the difference in giving their kids a happy holiday. The fact that this event has been happening for 44 years shows how much the Clarksville community cares about taking care of its own.

It's not just about the toys, though. It's about showing up, being part of something bigger, and reminding everyone that the holidays are about giving and community. Want to learn more about Bikers Who Care events? Check out their Facebook page.
